Would you be a good candidate for a lip enhancement?

If you are in good general health, have a positive attitude and realistic expectations, you would be a good patient for this procedure. You should talk to your doctor if you are considering lip injections, but have:
Current cold sores
Any scarring of your lips
Diabetes or Lupus
Blood clotting problems
As with any medical procedure, It’s important to discuss any concerns with your doctor prior to the treatment. And you should make your doctor aware of any existing medical conditions, medications, or allergies which may cause complications. If you smoke, this may also be a complicating factor.

Is lip enhancement painful?

Lip enhancement with dermal fillers is a very common and safe procedure. Although pain tolerance between patients varies, there are many topical, injection and infiltrative anesthetic treatments that can minimize pain. The procedure involves tiny pin-prick injections, and is usually done using a nerve block, similar to a dental anesthetic, which numbs the lips to ensure that you are relaxed and comfortable before the actual procedure begins. The procedure takes less than an hour, with little to no downtime.

What are possible side effects/risks of lip enhancement?

As with any cosmetic procedure, there are risks and complications to a lip augmentation. You may experience bruising, swelling, redness, lumpiness, infection, vascular occlusion, skin necrosis, or perhaps nerve damage. It is very important to seek an experienced injector with an aesthetic eye and attention to detail to maximize your results and minimize your risk of complications. How long do lip enhancement results last?

We use Restylane, Restylane Silk, Restylane Refyne, Juvéderm Ultra, and Volbella injectable gel fillers for our lip enhancement treatments. Your results will usually last from about  six months to a year. In some patients as more injections are  performed there is greater persistence. For safety, as well as the most healthy outcome, it’s important to return for follow-up evaluations and whenever you notice any changes. How much does a lip enhancement treatment cost?

The cost of your lip enhancement procedure will be discussed with you during your initial consultation. Price depends upon the type and amount of filler used for the treatment. Because lip enhancement is an elective procedure, insurance does not cover the costs.
